$99 per student (Ages 8-18).
Must bring laptop to class.
Structure
The course is split into three days of 4-hours each. Beginning and Intermediate Classes are
instructor-led and introduce new concepts in Scratch by way of many quick lessons, each with hands-on examples, practice, and experimentation.
A playable game will be developed in Scratch from scratch (pun intended).
The optional Advanced Class is instructor-assisted and provides group sharing,
discussion, solutions to more challenging Scratch concepts, and creation of a collaborative project.
After each 4-hour class, the student will be able to work on their own, from home, or anywhere with internet access, to create their own programs and share them with others, using the concepts learned.
Day 3: Advanced Scratch Programming (optional, 4 hours)
NOTE: This class will only be available if there is enough interest for a Group Collaboration Project*.
• Unit 17: Q&A! The Advanced Class is here to answer your questions and help with your challenges.
• Unit 18: Tricks! Lists, audio/video detection, Turbo Mode, extensions, and other pro-tips.
• Unit 19: Team! Collaborate with others to create something even better by combining strengths.
• Unit 20: Decide! As a group, determine a project that everyone would like to help create.
• Unit 21: Design! As a group, determine what that project should contain and how it should work.
• Unit 22: Code! As a group, code the program to bring the design into a functional reality.
• Unit 23: Test! As a group, test the completed programming thoroughly to find any bugs or problems.
• Unit 24: Share! The completed project will be made available publicly to everyone in the world!
